Sunday Organist Position – Christ Episcopal Church

We are seeking an experienced organist/pianist whose primary responsibility will be to
play for our 9:30 AM Sunday worship service. Christ Episcopal Church is located one
block from historic downtown Madison, IN. Our congregation is over 190 years old and
we take pride in our worship and history. Emily Todd Helm-Abraham Lincoln’s sister-in-
law-served as organist. This position is currently only for the Sunday worship service.
Responsibilities
Play for the Sunday worship service, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, and Christmas Eve;
Play for Funerals and Weddings as requested;
Occasionally accompany other musicians and vocalists.
Qualifications
Proficient in playing a variety of musical styles: Hymns and Classical
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with members of the
congregation, priest, and office secretary.
Salary
Commensurate with experience for playing one worship services.
